QUETTA: A so-called senior female commander of the internationally designated terrorist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Shahnaz Baloch, was critically injured after unidentified gunmen ambushed her vehicle in Afghanistan’s Bamyan province.
The sources said the attack occurred in the southern part of Bamyan, killing two of Baloch’s associates. They claimed she sustained critical injuries and was evacuated to a local hospital by Afghan Taliban personnel for emergency treatment.
There has been no independent confirmation of the incident from Afghan authorities, the Taliban administration, or the BLA. The identities of the attackers and the motive behind the ambush also remain unclear.
Security sources described the reported attack as a significant setback for what they called an “anti-state militant network,” saying it had disrupted the group’s operational capabilities. They further asserted that militant leaders operating across the border would not be beyond the reach of Pakistan’s security and intelligence apparatus.

Shahnaz Baloch was recently appeared in a BLA propaganda video training female cadres had claimed that she is the first female commander of the organisation.
In May, family members of Shahnaz Baloch had announced complete disassociation with her during a press conference held at Turbat Press Club.
