HYDERABAD: The Karachi-Rawalpindi Tezgam Express experienced a significant mishap on Wednesday when its 13th bogie derailed near the Hussainabad area of Hyderabad, disrupting railway operations on the main line.
According to railway officials, rescue and restoration teams were immediately deployed to the accident site following the derailment. Efforts are currently underway to re-rail the affected bogie and restore normalcy to the track.
Officials confirmed that the derailment has caused damage to a portion of the main track, prompting authorities to suspend train movements on the up track. Consequently, train operations from Kotri to Hyderabad have also been temporarily halted as a precautionary measure.
Railway sources indicated that complete restoration of the track is expected to take several hours. However, repair work is progressing rapidly, with teams working around the clock to resume railway traffic at the earliest possible time.
