What just arrived in Muzaffarabad? Punjab sends 10 Electric Buses to AJK

MUZAFFARABAD: The 10 electric buses have arrived in Muzaffarabad under an initiative announced by Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif during his public address in the AJK capital.

The electric buses have been provided by the Government of Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as part of efforts to support environmentally friendly and modern transport facilities in the region.

In this regard, the buses were formally handed over to the local authorities by PML-N candidate Saqib Majeed. Following the handover, the vehicles were parked at the Municipal Corporation’s bus terminal located in Chattar, Muzaffarabad, where they will remain until the completion of operational arrangements.

The provision of the buses fulfills the commitment made by Nawaz Sharif during his address at a public gathering in Muzaffarabad, where he had announced that electric buses would be supplied to Azad Kashmir to help improve the public transport system.

The newly delivered buses are expected to offer residents a more comfortable, modern, and environmentally sustainable mode of transportation.

Electric buses are widely regarded as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional fuel-powered vehicles, contributing to lower emissions, reduced fuel consumption, and improved urban air quality.

Once operational, the fleet is anticipated to increase commuting facilities for residents and visitors while supporting the modernization of the region’s transport infrastructure.

The initiative also indicates ongoing cooperation between the Punjab government and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir administration in undertaking development projects aimed at improving public services and infrastructure.
