RAWALPINDI: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces successfully thwarted a cowardly terrorist attack carried out by Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij on a joint police check post in the Tank District during the night of 23 and 24 July 2026.
The assailants attempted to breach the security perimeter, but the vigilant and resolute response of the troops quickly foiled their designs.
Demonstrating unwavering courage and professional excellence, the security forces engaged the fleeing attackers with precision, eliminating twelve khwarij.
In a desperate bid, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall.
The resulting blast caused severe damage to the check post infrastructure, leading to fifteen brave sons of the soil—comprising twelve military personnel, two policemen, and a government official from the ex-Forest Department—making the ultimate sacrifice and embracing Shahadat.
The ISPR stated that a sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to hunt down any remaining terrorists.
Reaffirming the state’s resolve, the military’s media wing emphasized that the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to completely wipe out foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
“These sacrifices of our brave soldiers further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs,” the ISPR statement concluded.
