ISLAMABAD: Government of Balochistan Spokesperson Shahid stated that establishing faceless courts is essential given the current wave of terrorism.
Expressing deep regret over the martyrdom of Session Judge Abdul Hakim Kakar, he noted that past legislation regarding faceless courts faced criticism despite witnesses being intimidated and judges threatened.
He emphasized that the response to this attack serves as a strong message to terrorists under the new law, adding that extraordinary legislation is enacted even in countries like the United States during extraordinary circumstances.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for the martyred judge were offered in Quetta, attended by a large number of provincial ministers, advisors, political and social figures, and local citizens.
Spokesperson Criticizes Past Governments’ Inaction on Terrorism
He stated that past governments failed to take effective measures against terrorism.
He noted that now, when the current administration has launched a decisive operation, those very critics have started protesting.
Emphasizing that Balochistan has been grappling with a wave of terrorism for two decades, he questioned why these political parties and former government officials remained silent during that time.
