HUB: A family outing to Gadani Beach turned into tragedy on Saturday when five children drowned while bathing in the sea, rescue officials confirmed.
According to rescue authorities, lifeguards on duty managed to rescue four of the children and rushed them to a nearby medical facility. However, a search operation is still underway to locate the fifth child, who remains missing.
Officials stated that the family had arrived at the popular picnic spot earlier in the day when the children ventured into the water and were caught in rough currents.
Rescue teams, including divers and coast guard personnel, are continuing their search efforts in the area as darkness approaches. Authorities have urged visitors to adhere strictly to safety instructions and designated swimming zones at beaches to prevent such tragedies.
