Khawarij Militants Kill Off-Duty FC Soldier at Home in Lakki Marwat

PESHAWAR: Militants associated with Fitna al Khawarij stormed the home of an off-duty Frontier Corps (FC) soldier in Pakistan’s northwestern Lakki Marwat district and shot him dead in front of his family, local sources said on Saturday.

The attackers forced their way into the soldier’s residence in the Hayat Khel area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Shahbaz Khel Police Station in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and opened fire on a Frontier Corps (FC) official.

The victim, Inamullah Khan Marwat, son of Abdullah, was on leave from duty at the time of the attack.

He died at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

The attackers fled after the shooting. Authorities launched an investigation and began efforts to trace those responsible.

The killing sparked grief and anger among local residents, who condemned the attack and demanded swift action against the perpetrators.

Lakki Marwat has witnessed repeated Fitna al Khawarij militant attacks in recent years amid a resurgence of violence in Pakistan’s northwestern border regions.
