Croatian FM Seeks Stronger Ties with Pakistan in First-Ever Official Visit

ISLAMABAD: Croatia on Thursday praised Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace as the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and other sectors of mutual interest.

Croatian Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Dr. Gordan Grlić Radman called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad during his official visit to Pakistan.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch also attended the meeting.

Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the Croatian minister and his delegation, saying Pakistan valued its friendly ties with Croatia, which were based on mutual respect, cordiality and shared interests.

He said Islamabad was keen to deepen cooperation with Zagreb in trade, investment, information technology, connectivity, agriculture, tourism and skilled workforce development.

Sharif also conveyed his best wishes to Croatian President Zoran Milanović and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, and invited both leaders to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.

Grlić Radman thanked the prime minister for the warm welcome and said he was honored to visit Pakistan.

He commended Pakistan and its leadership for their role in regional peace efforts and acknowledged the country’s constructive diplomatic engagement.

The Croatian foreign minister also expressed his government’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations across all areas of mutual interest.

Officials said the meeting underscored Pakistan’s efforts to deepen engagement with European partners and expand cooperation through economic partnerships, regional stability and mutual respect.
