Mirpur Residents Rally Against Banned JAAC, Call for Peace and Stability

MIRPUR: Residents in Mirpur held a protest on Tuesday against the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), calling for peace and an end to disruptions caused by the group’s ongoing agitation in Azad Kashmir.

The rally was held at Chowk Shaheedan and was attended by local residents, civil society members and community leaders.

Protesters said prolonged demonstrations had disrupted daily life. They accused the banned group of forcibly shutting down markets and transport services across parts of the region.

Participants expressed support for Pakistan and urged the restoration of normalcy.

Addressing the gathering, political and community leaders, including assembly candidate Abdul Shakoor Mughal, called for strict legal action against those involved in activities that, they said, threatened public order and state stability.
