ISLAMABAD: South Korea’s men’s national hockey team will tour Pakistan from July 27 to August 9, 2026, in a major boost for the country’s efforts to revive international hockey.
The visit comes after efforts by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani to strengthen international sporting ties.
During the tour, the South Korean team will hold a training camp in Islamabad and play a series of practice matches against Pakistan’s national team.
According to media reports, a 25-member South Korean delegation will arrive in Pakistan in the final week of July. The contingent will include 20 players and five officials.
The visiting team will train at Pakistan’s modern hockey facilities throughout the camp. PHF officials believe the sessions will provide valuable international exposure for local players and help promote the sport.
PHF President Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani welcomed the tour and described it as a significant milestone for Pakistan hockey.
“The visit of one of Asia’s strongest hockey teams will provide a valuable learning opportunity for our young players,” Wani said.
He added that the tour reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s sports infrastructure, playing conditions, and security arrangements.
PHF officials said the primary objective of the visit is to support the return of international hockey to Pakistan while giving local players the opportunity to compete against top-level opposition.
The federation described the tour as an important step toward restoring Pakistan’s position on the international hockey stage.
