SARGODHA: In a horrific incident, influential suspects buried a 12-year-old boy alive in an attempt to silence him after his family filed a complaint regarding a sexual assault committed against him a few days prior.
The victim, identified as Ghulam Rasul, had been missing since yesterday.
The crime came to light when locals working in a nearby field heard the crying and muffled screams of the boy as he regained consciousness underground.
They immediately alerted the police and dug him out.
The victim was rushed to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Sargodha, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police teams have launched raids to apprehend the culprits, though no arrests have been made so far.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators based on the application submitted by the victim’s family.
