SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif praised Pakistan’s historic role during the Iran conflict today, stating that the world will remember the country’s peace efforts forever. He emphasized that Pakistan played a highly positive role to restore stability in the region.
Speaking to journalists in Sialkot, Asif noted that Youm-e-Ashura arrived during a period of active regional warfare. He highlighted that the Iranian people demonstrated immense patience and sacrifice during this challenging time.
The Defence Minister stated that Pakistan actively defused tensions and facilitated dialogue between the conflicting parties. These actions, he added, significantly raised the country’s international stature.
Asif credited the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal for leading effective diplomatic initiatives. He said these efforts successfully vindicated Pakistan before the entire Muslim Ummah.
Reflecting on religious history, the minister said the tragedy of Karbala teaches humanity to stand firmly for truth, patience, and principles. He urged nations to prioritize peace, justice, and human values under current global circumstances.
Concluding his remarks, the minister prayed for the freedom and peace of oppressed communities, including Muslims, who currently face hardships across the globe.
