Massive Funds and Gas Project Approved for Balochistan

QUETTA: The Federal and Balochistan governments have reaffirmed their commitment to promoting employment, infrastructure development, trade opportunities, and the equitable distribution of resources across the province’s underdeveloped areas.

During a high-level meeting co-chaired by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, both sides reached a milestone agreement to utilize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds and supply low-BTU gas to the marginalized regions of Balochistan.

Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik assured that the federal government will extend full cooperation to the Balochistan administration to ensure the swift implementation of these welfare measures.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that providing low-BTU gas to Quetta, Dera Bugti, and several other districts will directly benefit the local population.

He highlighted that this strategic initiative will significantly stimulate industrial investment, boost local business environments, and generate sustainable job opportunities.

Chief Minister Bugti reiterated that his administration’s top priority remains ensuring that the province’s natural resources directly reach its common and underprivileged citizens.

Developmental Milestones Under the Sarfraz Bugti Administration

The Government of Balochistan, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, has launched an aggressive, multi-sector developmental strategy aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of the province.

Recognizing that sustainable peace is deeply linked to economic empowerment, the administration has placed a heavy emphasis on generating employment, upgrading infrastructure, and fostering a business-friendly environment for local and international trade. By shifting focus toward the equitable distribution of resources, the current provincial setup is systematically addressing the long-standing grievances of marginalized districts.

A cornerstone of these initiatives is the revitalization of local economies through strategic industrial zones and cross-border trade facilitation.

The government has prioritized the development of Gwadar and adjacent coastal belts as pivotal trade hubs, streamlining administrative processes to encourage corporate investments and local entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, by strictly implementing local quota regulations across mega-development projects and the mining sector, the administration has successfully opened thousands of technical and non-technical jobs for Balochi youth.

In addition to industrial expansion, the Sarfraz Bugti government is utilizing public-private partnerships to upgrade vital infrastructure, including road networks, digital connectivity, and energy pipelines.

The recent integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds into community development signifies a shift toward grassroots empowerment.

By directing corporate revenues toward clean energy initiatives, clean drinking water plants, and modern vocational training centers, the government is equipping the local workforce with market-driven skills.

These consolidated actions are rapidly turning Balochistan into an attractive corridor for trade, ensuring that natural wealth translates into tangible prosperity for its citizens.
