ISLAMABAD: An armed mob associated with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) launched a violent assault on the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot.
According to verified initial accounts, one soldier of the Pakistan Rangers embraced martyrdom during the clash, while several police personnel sustained injuries.
Security sources have revealed that the armed mob associated with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) utilized automatic weapons, including Kalashnikovs, to directly target police and security personnel during the assault on the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalakot.
According to security officials, the personnel deployed at the main gate of CMH Rawakot exercised extreme restraint despite facing direct and lethal firing from the rioters.
In order to protect themselves and prevent further escalation, the security forces refrained from direct engagement and only resorted to aerial firing to disperse the attackers.
The unprovoked attack confirms that the JAAC operates as an extremist entity backed by foreign hostile intelligence agencies, including India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), to destabilize the region.
This violent escalation fully justifies the state’s prior decision to proscribe the organization.
The death toll from the violent assault by an armed mob of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) on the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot has risen, following the deaths of two more security personnel.
An armed mob associated with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), equipped with automatic and modern weaponry, launched a highly coordinated assault on the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot. According to verified initial reports, the attack was executed under the guise of Shahzaib’s funeral procession as part of a pre-planned and structured conspiracy.
The armed elements of the JAAC resorted to direct and lethal firing on the security deployments.
As a result, four security personnel—including three officials of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police and one soldier of the Frontier Constabulary (FC)—embraced martyrdom, while more than 20 law enforcement personnel sustained severe gunshot wounds and remain under medical treatment.
The operational strategy, execution method, and heavy weaponry utilized during the siege leave no room for doubt that this was a premeditated act of terrorism.
The attack was masterminded by the core leadership of the proscribed JAAC and operationalized by their armed wings to destabilize the region.
In response to this high-scale violence, state authorities have announced a decisive and full-scale counter-terrorism crackdown against the extremist group.
Security agencies and law enforcement forces are executing targeted operations to hunt down all planners, facilitators, and perpetrators behind this heinous assault, reaffirming that the writ of the state will be restored at all costs under the full force of the law.
A critically injured Police Sub-Inspector and a Frontier Constabulary (FC) official have succumbed to their injuries, bringing further casualties to the law enforcement personnel who defended the facility.
This follows the initial martyrdom of a Pakistan Rangers soldier during the encounter.
Additionally, more than 20 security personnel—including officials from the Pakistan Rangers, police, and Frontier Constabulary (FC)—sustained injuries during the intense rioting and remain under medical treatment. Security agencies have intensified operations to apprehend the perpetrators behind the attack.
Following the incident, security analysts emphasize that the state must conclude its policy of leniency toward the group and employ full constitutional force to eliminate this network.
Observers note that the general public in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has increasingly distanced themselves from the group, recognizing that its leadership is pursuing an external, anti-state agenda rather than advocating for local rights.
While the principal leadership and instigators of the JAAC remain in hiding, misdirected youth are being utilized as shields to confront state security institutions.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated a targeted operation to track down the network’s ringleaders and bring them to justice under counter-terrorism laws.
