Forces killed 27 militants in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough under the framework of operation “Azm-e-Istehkam,” security forces have successfully neutralized a high-profile network of foreign-sponsored terrorists in North Waziristan, killing twenty-seven operatives over the last seventy-two hours, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

According to the military’s media wing, ISPR,  the breakthrough was achieved through a series of synchronized, intelligence-based operations (IBOs).

Security forces targeted multiple verified hideouts of the Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij in the general area of Miran Shah, North Waziristan District, triggering intense and fierce exchanges of fire.

The eliminated terrorists were actively involved in numerous high-profile terrorist activities, sabotage, and the targeted killings of innocent civilians in the region.

Large caches of weapons, operational gear, and ammunition were recovered from the neutralized hideouts during the clearances.

The ISPR further confirmed that by wiping out this specific cell, the state has avenged the heinous target killing of prominent tribal leader, Shaheed Malik Saifullah Dawar, who was assassinated in Miran Shah.

The perpetrators behind his targeted assassination have officially been brought to justice.

Currently, large-scale sanitization and sweep operations are underway to hunt down any remaining holed-up terrorists and dismantle their residual infrastructure in the surrounding areas.

The military reiterated that the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”—as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—will continue at full pace.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain resolutely committed to completely wiping out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistani soil.
