New Delhi Hotel Fire Claims 21 Lives

NEW DELHI : A devastating fire broke out at a hotel in India’s capital city, leaving at least 21 people dead and several others injured, while triggering a chaotic stampede inside the building.

According to Indian authorities, the fire erupted on Wednesday morning at the “Flourish Stay B&B” hotel located in the Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi, quickly engulfing the entire structure.

The Delhi Fire Service received the emergency call around 9:00 AM, prompting the immediate dispatch of eight fire tenders, water tankers, water bowsers, and rescue teams to the site.

Witnesses reported scenes of intense panic as trapped occupants scrambled to escape the smoke and flames.

Videos circulating on social media and local news channels showed two women jumping from the building to save their lives; however, their immediate condition remains unknown.

Rescue officials successfully evacuated more than 40 people from the building and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.

While three individuals were initially pulled out alive from the basement, the death toll steadily rose during the rescue operation, with authorities later confirming 21 fatalities.
