Dust Winds Cause Disaster in Upper Sindh Areas

SHIKARPUR: A severe dust storm accompanied by high-velocity winds has caused widespread destruction across the upper regions of Sindh and parts of Balochistan and South Punjab, leaving several individuals injured.

The heavy storm battered Kashmore, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, and adjoining areas of Usta Muhammad in Balochistan, uprooting numerous trees and blowing away signboards.

The intense winds also caused high-transmission electricity wires to collapse onto the National Highway (N-5), severely disrupting the flow of traffic.

Sindh Police and Motorway Police personnel promptly arrived at the scene, cleared the fallen cables, and successfully restored traffic movement.

Meanwhile, the dust storm triggered massive fires in dozens of houses across Muzaffargarh and Alipur in South Punjab, resulting in the tragic loss of several livestock that burned to death.
