Met Office Forecasts Rain, Strong Winds as New Weather System Arrives

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s weather authorities have forecast a significant change in weather conditions across Punjab, with strong winds, dust storms and rain expected in most districts from Tuesday through June 5.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a fresh western weather system is entering the country’s northern regions and is likely to bring rain to several cities across Punjab.

The department warned that some areas could receive heavy rainfall, while hailstorms are also possible at isolated locations.

Officials said the rain is expected to ease the ongoing heatwave, though strong winds and thunderstorms could disrupt daily life in some areas.

Meanwhile, authorities have warned of potential glacial lake outburst floods in the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to intense heat.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued alerts for Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Mansehra and directed relevant agencies to take precautionary measures to mitigate possible risks.
