QUETTA: In a major boost to regional connectivity, South Air Private Limited has successfully conducted its first test flight landing at the New Gwadar International Airport, located in Balochistan’s strategically and economically vital coastal city.
An ATR 72-600 aircraft was utilized for this milestone operation.
The launch of South Air’s flight operations is set to seamlessly link Gwadar with key cities and regions across Pakistan.
The proposed flight network intends to connect Gwadar to Turbat, Panjgur, Quetta, Sukkur, Lahore, Islamabad, and various destinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This new aviation service is anticipated to significantly drive tourism, investment, trade, and business activities.
Beyond improving regional integration, the initiative is poised to strengthen the local economy and generate fresh employment opportunities.
The successful test flight is being widely hailed as a highly positive step forward for Gwadar’s development, enhanced travel convenience, and economic growth in Balochistan.
