ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephonically contacted the heads of the country’s three armed forces, including Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with high-ranking government and political figures to extend his warm greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to sources from the Prime Minister’s House, Shehbaz Sharif held separate telephonic conversations with a wide array of constitutional and political leaders. These included the President of Pakistan, the Governors of Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Speaker of the National Assembly, as well as the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.
In addition to government officials, the Prime Minister also reached out to key political figures from across the aisle. He called Abdul Aleem Khan, Chairman of the Stability Pakistan Party, Khalid Magsi of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and Aftab Sherpao, leader of the National Awami Party, extending his heartfelt Eid greetings to them as well.
During these conversations, the Prime Minister prayed that Allah Almighty would grant Pakistan peace, development, prosperity, and stability. He also beseeched the nation be blessed with the wealth of unity and consensus.
Beyond the exchange of festive greetings, Shehbaz Sharif discussed the overall political situation of the country with the leaders. He stressed the importance of effective communication and mutual cooperation between the federation and the provinces, emphasizing that coordinated efforts were essential for navigating national challenges.
The Prime Minister further reiterated that the federal government, in collaboration with all the provinces and administrative units, will continue to take all possible steps to provide maximum relief to the people. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with provincial governments to address public concerns and ensure the nation’s progress.
