University of Gwadar VC, Officials Return Home Safely After 10 Days

QUETTA: The Vice Chancellor and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, along with a university staff member and their driver, returned home safely around 10 days after they were reported missing, the provincial government confirmed on Monday.

Babar Yousafzai, Special Assistant to the Balochistan Home Department, said that Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Pro-Vice Chancellor Syed Manzoor Ahmed, VC staff officer Irshad Ahmed, and driver Hatim Ali were recovered from the Kardgap area of Mastung.

“All four, including the vice chancellor and pro-vice chancellor, have safely reached their homes,” Yousafzai said.

The officials went missing on May 13 while travelling from Gwadar to Quetta. Their mobile phones were switched off after the incident. Police suspected that they had been abducted.

Security forces later launched an intelligence-based search operation. They also raided several suspected locations during the effort to recover them safely.
