ISLAMABAD: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moqadam, has praised the mediation efforts of Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, expressing cautious optimism that a positive development is taking shape in regional dynamics.
In a statement released on social media platform X on Saturday, Ambassador Moqadam revealed that he had received a congratulatory call from Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, who had just returned from Tehran.
“A few minutes ago, the honorable Interior Minister of Pakistan, my dear brother, Honorable Mohsin Naqvi Sahib, congratulated me on the success of the negotiations with the authorities of my country after his return from Tehran,” the ambassador stated.
He noted that the current progress is the result of Iran’s dignified stance, the steadfastness of its armed forces, the resistance of the Iranian nation, and the sincere efforts of Pakistani mediation. “With cautious optimism, we can expect that if the other side shows the appropriate determination and commitment, a positive development is taking shape,” Moqadam said.
The Iranian ambassador specifically acknowledged the roles of Pakistan’s top leadership. “I hope that the esteemed government of Pakistan and the armed forces of Pakistan, especially the esteemed Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, in this mediation initiative, and the sincere diplomatic efforts of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, will lead to lasting peace in the region,” he added.
Concluding his statement, Ambassador Moqadam expressed deep gratitude to all the Pakistani officials involved. “On my behalf, I express my heartfelt and sincere gratitude to all these esteemed personalities for their sincere efforts,” he said.
