ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced summer vacations in government schools and colleges across the federal capital Islamabad which will begin on May 25 and continue until July 31.
The FDE said educational institutions will reopen on August 3. It added that several academic and extracurricular activities will continue during the summer break.
According to an official notification, all public sector schools and colleges in Islamabad will observe summer holidays from May 25.
The notification said a two-week “Summer Fiesta” will begin on June 15. The programme will include various educational and recreational activities for students.
The FDE also announced special coaching classes for ninth and tenth grade students in June or July to ensure timely completion of the academic syllabus. Institutions will assign teaching staff according to requirements.
The directorate said the classes may also be conducted through digitally connected classrooms. Live lectures will be delivered in June, while recorded lectures will be provided in July.
According to the notification, undergraduate programmes, including BS and ADP classes, will continue under their approved academic schedules and semester calendars.
The FDE further said teacher training sessions will also take place during the summer holidays. Educational institutions will additionally carry out maintenance work, repairs and stock-checking activities during the break.
