QUETTA: Balochistan’s Provincial Minister Haji Ali Madad Jatak announced on Sunday that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has made it unequivocally clear that Mir Sarfraz Bugti will serve as the Chief Minister of Balochistan for the full five-year term.
Addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, where several political and tribal leaders formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jatak reaffirmed the party’s longstanding commitment to peace, education, healthcare, and employment in the restive province.
“The PPP has always desired peace in Balochistan and remains committed to ensuring education, health facilities, and job opportunities for the people,” Jatak said.
Among those who joined the PPP after leaving Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) were Dr. Ali Nawaz Parkani, Mir Abdulsalam Zehri, Commander Mahmood Khan Zehri, Sardar Fatah Muhammad, Shahnawaz Mengal, and Haji Mirullah Dad Zehri, accompanied by hundreds of their supporters. PPP leaders Lala Rozi Khan Kakar, Mir Naseebullah Shahwani, Mir Muhammad Yousaf, and Mir Wali Muhammad Qalandarani were also present on the occasion.
Jatak asserted that the PPP has been striving since day one to eliminate unemployment, lawlessness, and backwardness from the province by ensuring access to education, healthcare, clean drinking water, gas, electricity, and jobs. He said the provincial government is working to complete development projects on time so their benefits reach the public.
Claiming that the PPP has further strengthened its position in Quetta and Sariab, Jatak noted that development work is progressing rapidly in the provincial capital. He pointed to the recent inauguration of several projects by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, including a trauma centre and an air ambulance service, calling them key to Balochistan’s development and the provision of essential facilities.
Praising Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial minister described him as a hardworking leader who works nearly 20 hours a day. He added that the government is focusing on sending youth abroad for modern and higher education to enable them to become productive members of society and contribute to the development of Balochistan and Pakistan.
“In view of the prevailing situation in the province, Bugti is responding to critics through performance,” Jatak said, adding that the chief minister is taking practical measures in coordination with coalition partners to improve law and order and governance.
