KARACHI: The Pakistan Women’s team achieved a clinical series whitewash against Zimbabwe by winning the third and final T20 match in Karachi by a massive margin of 133 runs.
Batting first, Pakistan set a formidable target of 224 runs, highlighted by a historic performance from Captain Fatima Sana Khan, who smashed the fastest fifty in the history of women’s T20 cricket.
Fatima reached her half-century in just 15 balls, breaking the previous world record of 18 balls shared by players from New Zealand and England, eventually finishing with 62 runs off 19 deliveries.
Other notable contributions came from Saira Jabeen with 50 runs, Ayesha Zafar with 45, Iram Javed with 29, and Muneeba Ali with 22, while Zimbabwe’s Mabhero claimed two wickets for 36 runs.
In response, the Zimbabwe Women’s team crumbled to just 90 runs, being bowled out by the first ball of the 18th over.
Opener Kelis was the top scorer for the visitors with 32 runs, while Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Sadia Iqbal, who took three wickets, and Nashra Sandhu, who claimed two.
