Pakistan Rejects Claims of Iranian Aircraft Presence as Misleading

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has strongly dismissed a report by CBS News regarding the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase, labeling it as sensationalist and factually incorrect.

In an official statement, the spokesperson clarified that such speculative reporting appears to be an attempt to undermine regional peace and stability efforts.

The Foreign Office explained that during the initial rounds of the Islamabad Talks and following the ceasefire, multiple aircraft from both Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan.

These flights were purely logistical, intended to transport diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff involved in the negotiation process.

Some aircraft remained temporarily in Pakistan in anticipation of subsequent rounds of talks.

The statement further noted that while formal negotiations have yet to resume, high-level diplomatic engagement continues.

The existing logistical facilities were used to support visits by the Iranian Foreign Minister to Islamabad.

MoFA emphasized that these aircraft are linked solely to diplomatic facilitation and have no connection to military emergencies or any secretive security arrangements.

Reiterating its position, the spokesperson stated that Pakistan remains a neutral and responsible facilitator in regional de-escalation efforts.

The ministry reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting sincere diplomatic initiatives that promote security and stability across the region.
