Gwadar Iranian Petrol Prices Rise

Iranian Petrol Prices Surge in Gwadar After Kantani Hor Closure

GWADAR: The price of Iranian petrol has increased by Rs30 to Rs40 per litre in coastal and border areas of Balochistan following the closure of the Kantani Hor route.

According to media reports, people associated with the fuel business in Gwadar said the increase was not caused by the Pakistani government’s fuel price hike, but due to the suspension of trade activities at the border area of Kantani Hor.

Officials in the Makran Division also confirmed the closure, stating that federal authorities had shut down the route.

Local residents said Iranian fuel is transported to Gwadar by sea through the Kantani Hor area near Jiwani, which borders Iran.

Traders dealing in Iranian fuel said petrol was previously being sold in Gwadar for Rs170 to Rs180 per litre, but after reports of the route’s closure, prices surged to Rs200 to Rs210 per litre.
