Qatar PM Urges Parties to Engage With Pakistan-Led Peace Efforts

WASHINGTON :   Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, met with United States Vice President J. D. Vance in Washington on Friday, with discussions highlighting Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at de-escalating regional tensions.

 

The meeting, which focused on the close strategic cooperation between Qatar and the United States, also addressed ways to support and strengthen bilateral ties across various fields. However, a key element of the talks centered on the latest regional developments and the role of Pakistani mediation in reducing hostilities.

 

During the meeting, the Qatar Prime Minister stressed the need for all parties to engage with ongoing mediation efforts. He emphasized that such engagement would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, ultimately leading to a comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace in the region.

 

Officials noted that Pakistan’s mediation efforts are being recognized as a constructive contribution to enhancing security and stability in a tense regional environment.
