QUETTA : The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Quetta has taken strict notice of an incident in which a youth was chased by a black Mark X vehicle and killed in police firing, ordering immediate action against those involved.
According to officials, an inquiry committee headed by the SSP of the Special Complaints Investigation Wing (SCIW) was formed to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. The committee has since submitted its report.
In light of the inquiry findings, an FIR has been registered against the police personnel involved in the incident, and three police officers have been arrested, the DIG confirmed.
The DIG Quetta made it clear that any kind of abuse or misuse of powers by the police will not be tolerated at all. He emphasized that the police take an oath to protect and serve the public, and warned that if any official is found involved in such an incident in the future, he will be made a strict example according to the law.
Authorities stated that justice will be ensured and no one will be considered above the law. Further legal proceedings are underway.
