ISLAMABAD: According to Al Jazeera, negotiations are currently underway between the United States, Pakistan, and Iran regarding a potential ceasefire.
In its report from Washington, the network stated that discussions are ongoing among Washington, Islamabad, and Tehran, with proposals being exchanged and key red lines being debated.
Al Jazeera reports that the United States is insisting on addressing Iran’s nuclear program as a primary issue before moving on to other matters.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials are demanding the removal of the naval blockade around Iranian waters as a first step.
The report notes that although there is strong potential for progress in these talks, there remains a risk that tensions could escalate again due to any single triggering incident.
Additionally, there is speculation in Washington and Israel about the possibility of a brief conflict lasting two to three weeks, aimed at pressuring Iran into accepting terms favorable for negotiations.
