MEHAR, Sindh : At least 16 people, including men, women, and children, fainted after allegedly consuming unhealthy milk tea in Gul Colony, a residential area in the historic city of Mehar, located in Dadu district, officials said.
The affected individuals were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where the administration declared an emergency. According to the A-Section Police Station, all members of a single family lost consciousness after drinking the tainted tea and were promptly provided medical care.
Doctors attending to the patients reported that the condition of two women is critical. They have since been referred to a private hospital for advanced medical assistance.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Further details regarding the nature of the contamination are pending as authorities await laboratory test results.
