QUETTA: In Quetta, opposition members staged a walkout during a session of the Balochistan Assembly over the issue of sealing mosques and religious seminaries. During the meeting, Provincial Minister Ali Madad Jattak addressed a point of order.
On this occasion, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman questioned whether all problems in Balochistan had been resolved, or if the government was only targeting mosques and madrasas. Despite being stopped by the Speaker of the Assembly, he continued speaking.
The Speaker remarked that “until Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman creates an issue, he is not satisfied.”
Meanwhile, another member, Ghulam Dastgir Rabbani, raised concerns that mosques and madrasas in his constituency had also been sealed.
The assembly later passed bills related to agricultural produce markets and witness protection.
However, the session was adjourned due to the absence of several ministers.
Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman also alleged that fish of worth 200 billion rupees is robbed in Balochistan.
He added that he doesn’t want to name anyone in this regard.
Secretary of Fisheries responded that his department sent teams on the indication of Maulana Hidayat, however the teams were shot at.
He also said that If Mualana provides with some evidence, the department will suspend the responsible.
He noted that instead of making allegations, Maulana should provide evidences.
