Iran Has Shown Military Superiority, Now Must Win Economic War: Mojtaba Khamenei

Strait of Hormuz will remain closed: Mujtaba Khamenei

TEHRAN :  Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, declared on Labor Day that the nation must now win a new phase of struggle against its adversaries: the economic front.

In a written statement released on Saturday, Khamenei said that while Iran has already demonstrated its “progress and superiority” on the military battlefield, defeating enemies requires an even broader effort.

“The struggle against enemies on the economic front is inevitable,” the Supreme Leader wrote.

He called on the Iranian people to engage in what he described as a “cultural and economic jihad,” urging citizens to prioritize locally produced goods over foreign imports.

“Now it is necessary to defeat the enemies even in the stage of economic and cultural jihad,” Khamenei said. “The people should prioritize the use of locally produced products.”

The statement marks an escalation in rhetoric aimed at countering international sanctions and economic pressure, framing domestic economic resilience as a national security imperative.
