ISLAMABAD: A series of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between institutions of Pakistan and China, officials said.
The signing ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari. Senior officials including Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Chief Secretary Sindh Ali Hassan Baloch, and Pakistan’s Ambassador Khilil Hashmi were also present.
A documentary marking 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship was also screened during the event.
Agreements were signed in the fields of construction machinery, animal health, and medical technology.
Cooperation was agreed to enhance the supply of construction machinery and equipment related to CPEC projects through trilateral collaboration.
Investment opportunities for setting up manufacturing facilities in Pakistan were also reviewed by the participating sides.
Memorandums of understanding were signed between Al-Hassan Trade Establishment, Sanei International Development, and Henan Jialong International Technology.
Further agreements were signed in the livestock sector, including joint projects for vaccine production and foot-and-mouth disease control.
Provisions were included for the implementation of animal traceability systems in Pakistan.
A separate MoU was signed between Dr Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen V-Bion Technology to promote the use of intelligent robotics in clinical medicine.
Officials said the agreements would strengthen industrial, healthcare, and agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
