In this regard, the US President Donald Trump and the First Lady were swiftly escorted to a secure location as a precautionary measure. So far, the Trump Administration later confirmed that the situation was brought under control and that all members of the administration present at the venue remained safe.

In a press conference following the incident, President Trump stated that a suspect had been apprehended.
