The sudden security scare unfolded during the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner when the sound of gunfire caused panic among attendees, prompting immediate action from security personnel.
In this regard, the US President Donald Trump and the First Lady were swiftly escorted to a secure location as a precautionary measure. So far, the Trump Administration later confirmed that the situation was brought under control and that all members of the administration present at the venue remained safe.
In a press conference following the incident, President Trump stated that a suspect had been apprehended.
