ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, leading a high-level delegation, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The visit comes as Islamabad and Riyadh continue to deepen cooperation across economic, diplomatic, and security areas.
Officials said the trip follows close coordination between the two countries during recent regional tensions, including the Iran-related crisis, as Pakistan maintains its role in regional diplomacy while engaging Gulf partners.
“The Prime Minister will depart from Islamabad today for an official visit to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a high-level delegation,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a post on X.

The government did not disclose a detailed agenda for the visit. However, bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have expanded in recent years, covering defence, trade, investment, diplomacy, and labour mobility.
The two countries have also strengthened security cooperation, including a defence agreement signed in September last year under which an attack on one country would be treated as an attack on both.
Saudi Arabia remains a key economic partner for Pakistan. It has provided financial support to stabilise Pakistan’s external sector, including a $3 billion deposit announced earlier this week.
The Kingdom is also home to a large Pakistani diaspora, which contributes significantly to Pakistan’s remittance inflows.
