Trump dispatched his best team to Islamabad for good deal on Iran

JD Vance to Lead Delegation in Islamabad Talks: White House

WASHINGTON:  US President Donald Trump has announced that he is dispatching a high-level team to Islamabad for negotiations, expressing optimism about reaching a favorable outcome regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

According to a news agency report, President Trump stated that Vice President JD Vance, along with senior advisers Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, have departed for the Pakistani capital.

“JD Vance, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff have left for Islamabad, where they will meet,” the US President said in his statement. “It would be a good deal for us if Iran does not have nuclear weapons.”

President Trump also addressed the strategic waterway of the Strait of Hormuz, declaring that it “will be completely opened very soon.” He added, “We do not use the Strait of Hormuz anyway, other countries do.”

Dismissing any need for contingency planning, the President asserted, “We do not need any back plan. Iran’s army has been dismantled. Iran will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons.”

The US delegation’s arrival in Islamabad comes amid ongoing regional tensions and follows a recent visit by a high-level Iranian delegation to the Pakistani capital for separate talks. No further details were immediately available regarding the agenda or schedule of the US meetings.
