JD Vance to Lead Delegation in Islamabad Talks: White House

Washington: White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt has confirmed that US Vice President JD Vance will lead the American delegation for direct negotiations with Iran in Islamabad.

Speaking to the media, Leavitt said that Vice President Vance will head the US team, which is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad tomorrow.

Earlier, there were conflicting reports about JD Vance’s visit to Pakistan, but the White House has now made an official announcement regarding his participation.

According to the spokesperson, the first round of negotiations will be held on Saturday in Islamabad. She added that Iran’s initial plan was rejected, after which Tehran presented more reasonable proposals.

However, she made it clear that the issue of Lebanon will not be part of these talks. Separate discussions regarding Lebanon are being held with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
