Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan has achieved a magnificent diplomatic victory on the international stage.
Addressing the Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that after centuries, Pakistan has received such global respect and honor as he has never witnessed in his lifetime.
He announced that American and Iranian delegations will arrive in Islamabad on Friday at his invitation. PM Shehbaz thanked the leadership of both the United States and Iran for agreeing to the ceasefire.
“The flames of war have been extinguished for two weeks. If Allah wills, they will be extinguished forever,” he added.
The Prime Minister paid rich tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his tireless efforts, saying he stayed awake for many nights to secure the ceasefire. He also appreciated President Asif Ali Zardari for providing strong guidance during this critical time.
PM Shehbaz emphasized that this is not the success of any single individual, but a victory of the entire Pakistani nation. He further highlighted that controlling skyrocketing inflation during such a difficult period was also a significant achievement.
He concluded by saying that the whole world is now looking at Pakistan with respect, and that Field Marshal Asim Munir remained in direct contact with American and Iranian leadership throughout the crisis.
