ISLAMABAD: A telephone conversation was held between Shehbaz Sharif and Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday.
The call lasted more than 45 minutes and was described as warm and cordial.
Appreciation was expressed by the prime minister for the Iranian leadership’s decision to agree to a ceasefire. Gratitude was also conveyed for accepting Pakistan’s offer to host negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad later this week.
Respect was extended to Mojtaba Khamenei.
Thanks were conveyed by President Pezeshkian for Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating a temporary ceasefire between Iran and the United States. Best wishes were also extended to the people of Pakistan.
It was confirmed that Iran would participate in the upcoming negotiations in Islamabad.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact.
