LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on Sunday that his party would support the federal government if it decides to introduce a mini-budget, while also warning that the effects of a potential war against Iran could spread worldwide.
Addressing a gathering at the anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Larkana, Bilawal acknowledged the severe economic crisis facing the country, stating that the difficulties being faced are unprecedented. “It is not known how long this difficult time will last,” he said, adding that all four provincial governments have been working together with the federation to provide relief to the public.
Bilawal specifically praised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for attending meetings and positively participating in consultations to ease the burden on citizens. He also outlined relief measures by the Sindh government, including supporting farmers with provincial resources, providing subsidies to motorcyclists, and keeping transport fares from rising.
The PPP chairman emphasized that the nuclear program, gifted to Pakistan by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, remains a deterrent against hostile forces. “The forces attacking Muslim countries cannot look at Pakistan with a malicious eye, and the reason for this is the nuclear program that Bhutto gave to Pakistan,” he asserted.
In a related remark, Bilawal noted that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has condemned the targeting of schoolgirls and Iranian citizens, underscoring the need for regional sol
idarity.
