NEW DELHI: A major development has emerged regarding Indian cricketer Yash Dayal ahead of IPL 2026.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, has confirmed that Yash Dayal will not be available for the entire IPL 2026 season due to personal issues.
Speaking at a press conference, Bobat said the decision was taken after discussions with Dayal, as it was felt that his inclusion in the squad would not be appropriate under the current circumstances. He, however, refused to share further details.
Yash Dayal’s absence, combined with the injury to Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, has significantly weakened RCB’s pace attack.
Dayal has not played any match since the IPL 2025 final in June 2025. He is currently facing two separate serious criminal cases.
The first case was registered in Ghaziabad in July 2025, where a woman accused him of physical and mental exploitation after he allegedly promised to marry her during a long-term relationship.
The second case was filed in Jaipur, in which a minor girl alleged that she was sexually assaulted multiple times since 2023, including an incident during the 2025 IPL season.
