KARACHI: Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in the oil and gas sector as the country’s first horizontal oil well has begun production.
Using advanced modern technology, Pakistan successfully completed its first-ever horizontal drilling.
Oil has been discovered from Well No. 13 in the Pasakhi Field near Hyderabad.
Unlike conventional vertical wells, this horizontal well is now producing 460 barrels of oil per day.
The drilling was carried out using state-of-the-art geo-steering technology, achieving international standards.
