QUETTA: The Balochistan’s government has announced an extension in the closure of educational institutions across the province until March 31.
The decision applies to all schools and colleges and has been taken in line with broader national considerations.
In this regard, provincial government spokesperson and Adviser to the Chief Minister, Shahid Rind, stated that the extension was made in the context of national-level decisions and ongoing assessments of the prevailing situation.
He focused on that authorities are closely monitoring developments and will determine the future course of action accordingly.
“The extension in the closure of educational institutions has been made in accordance with national decisions,” Rind said, adding that the government remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and staff.
The provincial government also indicated that there is a plan under consideration to increase the total number of annual academic days in schools and colleges.
This proposal aims to compensate for the academic time lost due to prolonged closures by reducing the duration of future holidays.
“The situation is being reviewed on a regular basis, and any further decisions will be taken in light of evolving circumstances,” Rind added. He also appealed to parents to support their children’s education by encouraging home-based learning practices.
It is noteworthy that a similar decision has already been implemented in Punjab, where the provincial government had earlier announced the closure of educational institutions until March 31. The alignment of decisions across provinces reflects a coordinated approach at the national level.
