ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif showed warm regards to the nation on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
President Zardari said that Pakistan Day serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and solidarity in transforming national aspirations into reality.
He mentioned the historic significance of March 23, 1940, when the Muslims of the Subcontinent adopted the Pakistan Resolution, laying the foundation for a separate homeland.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the country’s founding leaders and focused on that their vision continues to guide the nation. The president also referred to ongoing security operations, stating that efforts such as Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Operation Ghazab lil-Haq have yielded significant results in countering terrorism.
He reasserted Pakistan’s firm stance against militant groups, including those using foreign soil to carry out activities against the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his Pakistan Day message, said the nation has demonstrated remarkable resilience since independence.
He noted that despite economic and security challenges, the government has steered the country towards stability and sustainable growth.
