KURRAM :Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, issued a stark warning against cross-border terrorism on Saturday, asserting that Afghan soil must not be used to launch attacks against Pakistan. He made the remarks during an Eid-ul-Fitr visit to Kurram district, where he celebrated the occasion with frontline troops.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal offered Eid prayers in the district and prayed for the country’s stability. During his interaction with officers and soldiers, he lauded their high morale, professional competence, and unwavering determination. He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, crediting their legacy for recent operational successes.
In his address, Field Marshal Munir emphasized the Pakistan Armed Forces’ steadfast commitment to defending the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He specifically commended the personnel for their achievements in Operation Ghazbad-ul-Haqq against terrorist networks.
Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy toward militancy, the Chief of Defence Forces stated that terrorists operating from sanctuaries across the border in Afghanistan would not be permitted to disrupt Pakistan’s peace. He further reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring regional peace and stability.
Earlier upon his arrival, the Field Marshal was warmly received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
