Strait of Hormuz Open to Nations Expelling US, Israeli Envoys: Iran

TEHRAN: A strong warning over the security of the Strait of Hormuz has been issued by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, amid rising tensions with the United States.

In a statement released by the Guards, it was said that countries expelling American and Israeli ambassadors from their territory would be allowed unrestricted use of the strategic waterway.

According to the statement, such countries would be granted free passage through the Strait of Hormuz starting immediately.

Remarks made by Donald Trump were dismissed as meaningless by the spokesperson of the Revolutionary Guards. It was also stated that the decision on when the war ends would be made by Iran.

A warning was issued that security in the region would either exist for everyone or for no one.

The spokesperson further said that if attacks on Iran continued, not a single liter of oil would be allowed to leave the region.

Meanwhile, the U.S. president said during a Republican conference that the United States Navy could be deployed to protect vessels in the Strait of Hormuz if necessary.

It was stated that American naval forces could accompany commercial ships through the waterway should the situation require such measures.

Earlier remarks by the U.S. president were also challenged by the Revolutionary Guards, which dared Washington to deploy naval ships to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz if it had the courage to do so.
