ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif evening held a telephone conversation with Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Saudi Arabia, to convey Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the recent escalation in the Middle East following Israel’s attack on Iran and subsequent developments in the Gulf region.
The Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the rapidly evolving situation and emphasized that Pakistan views the ongoing escalation as dangerous and destabilizing for the entire region.
He underlined that further hostilities could have serious implications for regional peace, security, and economic stability.
He stated that Pakistan stands firmly by the Kingdom and other friendly countries in the Gulf in the face of emerging security challenges.
The Prime Minister mentioned the longstanding, fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, and close strategic cooperation.
He reasserted that Pakistan values its historic relationship with the Saudi leadership and people and remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.
Prime Minister Sharif also conveyed Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive and diplomatic role in de-escalating tensions.
He focused on the importance of dialogue, restraint, and adherence to international law to prevent further deterioration of the security environment.
