ISLAMABAD: The Afghan Taliban’s recent coordinated attacks along Pakistan’s border exposed their role in a wider international scheme linked to Israel and India after the attacks on Iran.
Officials said the recent Taliban provocations are not just internal political moves but part of a coordinated effort to distract Pakistan from its ties with Iran.
On February 26–27, Taliban assaults on Pakistani border posts reportedly killed more than 150 militants. Pakistani authorities claim these attacks coincided with regional tensions, including an Israeli strike on Iran weeks earlier.
Pakistan warned that the Taliban were being used as proxies to manipulate regional dynamics. “Our military and people remain steadfast in defending Pakistan and supporting our historical ally Iran,” a statement said.
Officials noted that Israel and India allegedly sought to exploit the Taliban to divert Pakistan’s attention, clearing the way for regional operations against Iran. Pakistani sources emphasized that these allegations underscore Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and Islamic brotherhood.
Pakistan has reaffirmed its strategic and historical ties with Iran while cautioning against external efforts to destabilize the region through proxy actors.
