Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Friday expressed serious concern over the recent escalation of tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, stating that the situation is being closely monitored.
In a statement issued from Peshawar, the chief minister emphasized that safeguarding every inch of Pakistan’s territory is a collective national duty, and no compromise will be tolerated on the security of border areas.
He strongly condemned any form of provocation or external aggression along the Pak-Afghan border, reiterating that there will be no concession on matters of national security.
Afridi confirmed that the provincial government remains in constant coordination with relevant institutions and security agencies amid the ongoing tensions.
He assured that the protection of residents in border regions is the government’s top priority, with necessary measures actively being implemented to ensure the safety of lives and property in the affected districts.
